The Brazil international has made only eighteen appearances in all competitions for the Catalans this season, with just seven of those coming in La Liga.
Despite his reduced playing time, Adriano has taken up the option of an additional year at Camp Nou, extending his contract until June 30, 2017.
The club said in a statement that they were “delighted with his decision.”
